New Coastal Wardens Scheme!

With more than 350 miles of coastline, Essex has one of the longest coastlines of any county and in October 2012 we launched our new scheme. The aim is to engage local communities with their beaches and coastline thruogh a range of exciting practical and educational volunteering opportunities to help protect the wildlife and coastal habitats of Essex.

You won't need any special skills to join in, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. We will provide training and support for local communities to take action on their stretch of coast.

The scheme is jointly funded by Essex County Council and the Interreg IV North Sea Region Programme through the County Council’s involvement in a European Project known as “SUSCOD”.

To register your interest for the scheme or to get more information call or email Emma Webb at: e.webb@tcv.org.uk or call our office on 01206 764470.

Find us on Facebook for updates, stories and photos from our staff and volunteers.

Want to get involved?

TCV's work in Essex is very diverse. You could be building a coastal path one day and enhancing an urban nature reserve the next, coppicing woodlands for wildlife or taking part in a food growing project.

Our volunteers are as variable as our tasks. We welcome all ages from all backgrounds - providing tools and experienced leadership to enable the most novice newcomer to work effectively alongside the most regular ‘old-hand’, taking positive action to improve their environment.

We also provide training events every year in addition to a variety of practical tasks.
