BTCV Somerset

Welcome to TCV Somerset. We co-ordinate many projects within Somerset offering a range of projects across the county, including nature conservation activities which anyone can get involved in, and specific projects for different groups in society.

Our Somerset office is in Yeovil.

We offer people opportunities to gain new skills and experiences which in turn allows them to make a positive contribution to their local community. There are opportunities for training and accreditation, and for you to gather the right experience for a career in nature conservation or community work.

How you could get involved

  • Midweek Conservation Group - carries out practical conservation projects every Wednesday in Yeovil and south Somerset.
  • Young People's Projects - young people undertaking practical conservation projects to help improve their local environment.
  • Diploma in Work Based Environmental Conservation - we now have places on our Level 2 Diploma in Work Based Environmental Conservation course.
  • Training - TCV's own in-house training courses. From short courses in practical skills, such as dry stone walling, hedgelaying, woodland management, leadership and risk assessment, to long courses such as the NVQ in Environmental Conservation.
  • Community Projects - TCV helps local communities across Somerset with their practical conservation projects. Find out how we could help your community group. Please contact us for more information if you require help with any aspect of your community project.
  • Conservation Holidays - Weekend or week-long projects which are a great way to meet new friends, get away from day-to-day of life and, of course, get lots of conservation work done.
  • Green Gym - benefit your health whilst also benefiting the environment and your local community.
  • Partnerships - TCV works in partnership with many organisations within Gloucestershire - find out how we could work with YOUR organisation.
