Communities across Wales are doing their bit to improve their environment. But sometimes they need a bit of support. Just a little bit of advice from an expert can turn a good idea into a community asset.
And that's where you come in. Your skills and experience can help people make a big difference.
You don't need any formal qualifications to be a Green Champion, just passion and knowledge of anything environmental or community based. It's also completely flexible because you can choose how and when you offer your time - it's volunteering that fits in with any lifestyle.
Your time and skills can really help to make a better environment for people to live, work and play in.
How do I become a Green Champion?

You can give advice and help over the phone, in writing, by email or in person. You can also choose how much time you want to dedicate. It's entirely up to you. All your expenses associated with mentoring will be reimbursed.

Volunteers throughout Wales can help you develop your ideas to produce a better environment for everyone. They can offer support and advice in person, by phone or via email.
Green Champions come from all walks of life, from a professional conservation background to a lifelong passion for their topic. Some Green Champions know all about practical conservation, some have experience in setting up community projects, some have written newsletters for years and others can offer their knowledge of environmental law. Each has their own speciality that they'd love to share with you.
So whatever your passion, let it grow with the help of a Green Champion.
