Hours: 21 per week
Salary: £14,414.40 (£24,024 FTE)
The Conservation Volunteers connects people and green spaces to deliver lasting outcomes for both.
Working in partnership with North Ayrshire Council and other key stakeholders, we are seeking a Senior Project Officer who will deliver a community engagement plan and programme to bring activity and interest to the park which includes:
- Providing support to 'Friends of Lochshore' and associated groups, to identify and establish volunteer led activities.
- Arrange for local site visit trips / tours for site work by volunteer groups.
- In association with existing site users and the Lochshore development group, arrange and deliver open days / tours and practical sessions for the wider communities.
- Liaise with existing site user groups and other groups including active schools, green health partnership and the NAC ranger service to produce an activity programme for the site.
- Engage with local schools to encourage the use of Lochshore for outdoor education.
- Fully explore any other potential opportunities for developing activity at the site not included on the above list, including arts-based activity.
- Support the delivery of any future consultation required during the development of physical projects.
- Establish social media accounts to raise awareness and promote activity at the site.
- Design a Lochshore information pack to be used as a learning aid for schools, communities and visitors.
- Monitor progress and participation and regularly report back to NAC and the Lochshore development group on progress and outcomes.
Essential skills and experience includes leading and managing groups, working in partnership with other organisations, and community groups, as well as supporting local conservation management plans.
