About the role

We are excited to recruit to this Senior Project Officer role leading on our funded projects supporting accessibility in the work of The Conservation Volunteers in Leeds. Based at Hollybush Conservation Centre, Kirkstall, this role is the senior role in delivering our work that supports people to build confidence to travel to natural spaces and volunteer opportunities and our person-centred approach to supporting people to access our services and provide opportunities for progression routes in their time volunteering with us.

This role will be responsible for the ongoing Hollybush Active Travel Hub and Travel With Confidence work, collaborating with partner organisations across the city to support and promote different forms of accessible and sustainable travel. This work will be integrated with our work providing trauma-informed pathways for people to access our wider programme of work.

The role will be involved in the direct support of people with complex mental health needs, disabilities and other support needs, both in a group setting alongside our weekly Whittling project and travel confidence work, or in one-to-one sessions supporting people joining our volunteer activities, supporting volunteer pathways once accessing our services, and recruiting and managing Volunteer Officers to help deliver TCV work in Leeds.

The Senior Project Officer role is an exciting opportunity to join an established project supporting this developing direction of TCV work, in line with our newly published 2025-2030 TCV strategy, providing better nature for all; provide opportunities for people to improve their physical and mental health through access to nature-based activities and support people to volunteer and develop Green Skills. With access and inclusion to be put at the core of all our work, this role will contribute to the operational development that will help The Conservation Volunteers meet these strategic aims.

The Senior Project Officer will work closely with TCV colleagues and community partners, to lead delivery of the work.
