At Ley Hill Green Gym
Grow your own food and make new friends at our lovely garden opposite Holloway Hall Community Centre. We meet at Ley Hill every Monday to do some gentle gardening work and sow, grow, and enjoy tasty fresh produce. There are numerous fruit shrubs here which leads to some tasty jams and deserts in the late summer. Our sites have raised beds which are accessible and manageable. We also have a number of benches within the garden where you can enjoy your brew and listen to bird song.

This four day playscheme is ALL about getting outside and we aim to be out in the fresh air for most of the day, every day! Past events have included: Shelter building, fire lighting, outdoor games, nature study, campfire cooking, field games, hammock making, wild food walks, woodwork crafts, string making, bows and arrows, stalking and tracking, pyro-carving, and charcoal making. "My daughter says this was the best week of all the summer holidays! She made friends, bows and arrows, campfire food and some wonderful memories. As a parent I can't thank you enough for your kind, caring staff who were great fun and engaged our kids in such a brilliant week of activities." A week-long playscheme with loads of healthy outdoor fun and games, from 9am 'til 5pm each day. ã145 for four full days (plus Eventbrite booking fee) (Early bird ticket - ã125 - available until end May 2025)

At West Heath Community Centre
Join us and get outdoors in 2025! We meet at West Heath every Tuesday to do some gentle gardening work at the Community Garden here. No gardening experience is necessary as we will tell you everything you need to know. We provide tools and gloves. Please wear suitable clothes and shoes - we work outdoors for three hours in all weather conditions. This site is wheelchair accessible and consists of raised beds at various heights.

Itâs time for messy paint fun! Experiment with different painting techniques and tools inspired by nature to create a unique piece of artwork. Letâs be creative and play together this Wednesday at the Ecology Park. Sessions run on a drop-in basis; they are free and no booking is required. These sessions will take place indoors, in our classroom, from 11am-12pm and 2-3pm. Ask at the gatehouse for directions. Stick around in the park and complete the quiz or the younger childrenâs trail to discover more about colours in nature.

Letâs explore the park together and discover how relaxing it can be to spend time in nature. We will take a closer look at the beautiful plants around the park, use binoculars to spot wildlife, and enjoy fun games that include stretching and breathing exercises. All in a refreshing outdoor session, aiming to bring you closer to nature in a playful environment. The sessions are taking place outdoors from 11am-12pm and 2-3pm; a âplan Bâ for a rainy day is in place for an equal amount of fun and relaxation. Sessions are free, and no booking is required. We will meet at the gatehouse at 11am and 2pm and we recommend arriving at the start time. Stick around in the park and complete the quiz or the younger childrenâs trail to discover more about colours in nature.

At Hull Road Park
Join us for this family friendly volunteering opportunity in Hull Road Park. On Wild Fridays we aim to improve the park for wildlife by creating new nature homes, planting wildflowers, eco crafting, conducting wildlife surveys and more! Most recently we have created an insect hotel, made bumble bee homes and sown wild meadow seed. This relaxed, informal session is great for those wanting to make a difference, meet new people and get outside. The group is diverse open to additional needs and dementia friendly. During our break volunteers can enjoy snacks and hot drinks provided free of charge from the Choose2cafe (if you have any dietary requirements please contact before attending). Do as little or as much as you like, and stay for as long as you wish! Please contact the office for more details. We look forward to meeting you.
