Activity description
Join our regular Wednesday conservation workdays at the Ecology Park and help the wardens carry out vital management work in the park's different habitats - marsh, meadow, lakes, ponds, shingle beach and woodland. You can just turn up on a Wednesday and don't need to book ahead but, the first time you volunteer, we will ask you to fill out a TCV Volunteer Welfare Form (or we can email this to you in advance if you prefer). You will be working as part of a volunteer team with the park wardens, carrying out tasks such as pond clearing, reed cutting, meadow cutting, coppicing (cutting smaller tree stems), digging and weeding.

Come along to our Winter Fayre! Create and decorate your own festive wreath, explore our winter trails (with options for all ages), try your luck at the tombola, meet the wonderful volunteers from our Friends group, and warm up with a hot drink while enjoying something tasty from our special winter BBQ& treats stall! Free entry – donations appreciated. Our Winter Fayre is one of the park’s key fundraising events of the year, and your contribution on the day will make a real difference. All donations help us maintain park infrastructure, support habitat conservation, and contribute to the delivery of our community events for everyone to enjoy.

Women’s Nature Wellbeing Club is ending the year with a creative session making winter decorations. Combine winter’s greenery with other seasonal natural materials to make a piece of art to take home. The event is open to women and girls aged 16 and over. Only 10 spaces available!
