Join our regular Wednesday conservation workdays at the Ecology Park and help the wardens carry out vital management work in the park's different habitats - marsh, meadow, lakes, ponds, shingle beach and woodland. You can just turn up on a Wednesday and don't need to book ahead but, the first time you volunteer, we will ask you to fill out a TCV Volunteer Welfare Form (or we can email this to you in advance if you prefer). You will be working as part of a volunteer team with the park wardens, carrying out tasks such as pond clearing, reed cutting, meadow cutting, coppicing (cutting smaller tree stems), digging and weeding.

At Southern Park
Activity description
This is a special conservation workday in Southern Park doing some habitat enhancement works planting shrubs and installing temporary fencing in one of the woodland habitats. We'll be meeting at the Ecology Park Gatehouse to walk round to Southern Park together. You need to book a space in advance by emailing us at gpep@tcv.org.uk as we have a maximum of 15 places. If it's the first time you have volunteered, we will ask you to fill out a TCV Volunteer Welfare Form and will email you the online link to this. You will be working as part of a volunteer team digging a section of compacted soil in the woodland area and planting new shrubs and trees, as well as creating a fence to protect the area.

Activity description
As autumn slowly draws to a close, we invite you to join us in planting spring bulbs in the flower beds created as part of the Urban Nature Wellbeing Project. These bulbs will transform Mudlark Boulevard into a beautiful display of colour in the spring, helping to support local biodiversity and create a welcoming space for people and wildlife. Come and enjoy a relaxing gardening activity, connect with nature, and meet members of your local community in a friendly and supportive environment. After the planting session, we'll gather for a cup of tea before taking a gentle walk around the park to appreciate the season and spot some of the wildlife that calls the park home. Free to attend. Come along to our Winter Fayre! Create and decorate your own festive wreath, explore our children's winter trail, try your luck at the tombola, meet the wonderful volunteers from our Friends group, and warm up with a hot drink while enjoying something tasty from our special winter BBQ& treats stall! Our Winter Fayre is one of the park's key fundraising events of the year, and your contribution on the day will make a real difference. All donations help us maintain park infrastructure, support habitat conservation, and contribute to the delivery of our community events for everyone to enjoy. Free entry and no booking necessary; donations appreciated. Suitable for all ages. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
