    The Merseyside Midweek volunteer group operates across the Liverpool, Wirral, Cheshire West, Sefton and West Lancashire region. We pickup in the minibus at 9:30am in Liverpool City Centre every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - driving from there to site to deliver environmental contracts.

    Practical Conservation Projects

    Activity description

    We run practical conservation tasks in various locations in Hull and the surrounding area from 9am-4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. Transport provided from TCV Humber field office. No experience necessary. The work varies from season to season. In winter you could be tree planting, hedge laying, or creating and maintaining ponds and wetlands; whilst in summer you could be constructing wildlife areas in schools, creating footpaths, making hay, or undertaking invasive species control. If you want to get involved in practical work outdoors, learn new skills (or share old ones!) and work with a fun and friendly group then come and join in.

    Whittling Group

    Activity description

    Join in and learn how to use knives, saws, hatchets and much more to make things out of wood. No whittling experience needed, we can work with whatever level you are at. Your first session you will go home with a lovely whittled mushroom! We whittle anything we imagine, from spoons, deer and mushrooms to the Loch Ness monster.

    Activity description

    We will be doing a variety of tasks throughout the duration of the project which include; improving the biodiversity of the site, regular wildlife surveys, site maintenance, mapping, improving the grounds, planning and research. There will be soup provided at lunch break, but you can still bring your own food if you wish. Please come in weather appropriate clothing.     Join The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) to enhance the biodiversity of Glasgow’s many fantastic parks and greenspaces. Help care for the local woodlands and wildlife areas, plant trees and hedges, create wildflower meadows, clear invasive plant species, and much more! Conservation volunteering is a great opportunity to make a difference for nature and to combat climate change. TCV projects run daily from Tuesday – Saturday, approximately 10am – 2pm, with city centre pick-ups and drop-offs. There’s no minimum commitment – just join in when you can. Let’s make Glasgow greener together! We work in various sites across Glasgow. Details of upcoming sessions are emailed out each Friday.
