At Abbey Pumping Station Museum Grounds
Come and join this friendly regular group, which meets weekly to do gardening at the beautiful Abbey Pumping Station. Our group grows it's own vegetables on our allotment (plenty of raised beds for those with mobility issues) and also flowers for the on site sensory "Forget-Me-Not Garden". Tea, biscuits and your chosen level of social interaction are part of our regular time each week :)

We run practical conservation tasks in various locations in Hull and the surrounding area from 9am-4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. Transport provided from TCV Humber field office. No experience necessary. The work varies from season to season. In winter you could be tree planting, hedge laying, or creating and maintaining ponds and wetlands; whilst in summer you could be constructing wildlife areas in schools, creating footpaths, making hay, or undertaking invasive species control. If you want to get involved in practical work outdoors, learn new skills (or share old ones!) and work with a fun and friendly group then come and join in.

This four day playscheme is ALL about getting outside and we aim to be out in the fresh air for most of the day, every day! Past events have included: Shelter building, fire lighting, outdoor games, nature study, campfire cooking, field games, hammock making, wild food walks, woodwork crafts, string making, bows and arrows, stalking and tracking, pyro-carving, and charcoal making. "My daughter says this was the best week of all the summer holidays! She made friends, bows and arrows, campfire food and some wonderful memories. As a parent I can't thank you enough for your kind, caring staff who were great fun and engaged our kids in such a brilliant week of activities." A week-long playscheme with loads of healthy outdoor fun and games, from 9am 'til 5pm each day. £145 for four full days (plus Eventbrite booking fee) (Early bird ticket - £125 - available until end May 2025)

At Dunville Garden
Holywood Green Gym is set in Dunville Heritage Community Garden, Redburn Country Park. Run by TCV in partnership with Holywood Shared Town and Men's Shed. It is a great space for all abilities and skills experience to come and learn, join in and have fun! Our Green Gyms are funded though the PHA and aim to improve peoples mental and physical well being by connecting us with nature and helping our environment. At Dunville Garden we are partially restoring the old Victorian garden for our community and nature. We have many projects and focus on food growing, invasive species removal, habitat improvement and management, horticulture skills, path restoration and many more projects. We aim to work with each volunteer and teach them new skills as well as sharing your skills and expertise with the group, we want to hear your input and ideas for this community space. Most of all we want to have fun and create a safe space for everyone and nature. We have projects for all abilities so please get in touch of you have any additional needs or requests.

The Forth Valley Biodiversity Action Team undertake various practical conservation tasks and improve green spaces across Falkirk and Stirling. Activities include woodland management, pond clearance, maintaining paths and sowing wildflower seeds. We are dedicated to enhancing biodiversity through a range of activities from woodland management, creating habitats, eradicating invasive species, sowing wildflower seeds and community garden work. Volunteering is a great way to gain new skills and an opportunity to meet new people from a range of backgrounds. Come and join us to help care for the environment, meet new people and spend some time in the great outdoors!

A nice level prom walk to the east or west. Enjoy the seafront views and a loop around Grosvenor Gardens, or a stroll to the Pier and towards the Old Town. Suitable for all, including wheelchairs, scooters and pushchairs. Take care: seafront walks can be windy; look out for cycle lane.
