    Creative Woodwork for Wellbeing (Monday for FIVE weeks) ATL-HT4

    This is a five week course which runs every Monday from 2nd March to 30th March 2026 from 10.00am to 4.00pm <br>Health and Wellbeing courses are designed to help you to improve or take care of your physical and/or mental health and wellbeing. <br>This hands-on course is all about using creativity to boost wellbeing, tackle feelings of isolation, and support mental health. You'll learn practical woodwork skills that you can use in everyday life - no experience needed! Whether you're a complete beginner or just want to refresh your skills, you'll get to safely use common hand tools, measure wood accurately for simple projects, create basic joints and fixings. It's a relaxed and supportive environment where you can learn new skills, meet others, and enjoy the process of making a planter and a small garden store with your hands. <br>This course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain income related benefits; work full-time (37hrs a week) and earn below £25,750 or work part-time and earn below £13.85 per hour; It is £37.50 for those in receipt of state pension. Otherwise contact us for course fees. Evidence of identity and benefits, pension, or salary must be provided before the course starts. <br>To enrol on a course or for more information please call 0113 274 2335 or email hollybush@tcv.org.uk <br>Please note that this is a very hands-on, physical course that requires a level of strength and dexterity, and you will be using sharp hand tools.     Nature Counts Cumbernauld

    Activity description

    We meet every Tuesday 10:30-13:30 at different Scottish Wildlife Trust and North Lanarkshire Council wildlife reserves, across Cumbernauld. We will participate in a variety of wildlife surveys to understand targeted species and how we can help them. From pollinator walks to mammal surveys, we will cover a variety of species recording. We may also complete conservation tasks, such as removing invasive species or making homes for nature. Through taking part in these Citizen Science sessions you will gain skills in wildlife identification, meet new people and discover the wildlife that lives in Cumbernauld!

    Easter Trail

    With help from 'The Friends of Skelton Grange', our Easter Good Friday event is a glorious outdoor trail wandering through the woods and gardens at Skelton Grange. Complete a treasure hunt along the way and trade in your trove for a chocolatey Easter surprise at the end! The event is a fundraiser for the Centre, but also a great chance for families to enjoy some Easter fun! The Skelton Cafe will be open to buy hot drinks and sweet treats at the end. Tickets are required for all children attending the event, but babies (18 months or under) are welcome free. Adults do not require a ticket if they are accompanied by a child or children. Tickets are £8 per child (plus Eventbrite booking fee). Choose your timeslot between 11am and 1pm.

    Wild Play (8-12-year-olds)

    Activity description

    Set up camp for a day of wildness in the woods at TCV Skelton Grange... Activities will vary from session to session depending on the season and the group - but past Wild Play days have included: Wide games, shelter building, fire lighting, campfire cooking, field games, hammock hanging, wild food walks, woodwork crafts, string making, bows and arrows, stalking and tracking, pyro-carving and charcoal making. The cost per child is £33.60 (+ Eventbrite fee) and includes a day of outdoor games and bushcraft activities led by experienced leaders. Sessions run from 10am - 4pm. Please bring a packed lunch for the day.
