At Vale School
Join us at Vale School in Tottenham. The school have received a grant to green up their playground. We will build a raised bed with integrated seating, a habitat wall for minibeasts and other wildlife to enjoy, a pond for students to explore and some bird boxes to attract our flying friends. We will also do a general tidy up to make the garden more accessible and enjoyable for everyone!

Food growing and gardening tasks. Each week will vary depending on what needs doing, but can include seed sowing, planting out, watering, composting, weeding, construction of raised beds and garden signs. Tasks are suitable for all abilities. We take a break at around 12.30pm with hot drinks, biscuits and fruit provided.

Join us every FIRST and THIRD Wednesday of the month at our Chatham Place Green Gym in Northfield. We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to grow our own food in a relaxed environment, whilst enjoying our time in the communal garden, and making new friends. No previous experience is required and all tools are provided. Chatham Place and the communal garden is fully accessible, and has on site accessible toilets. There is also space for indoor activities, which we use during bad weather to ensure we can all enjoy gardening and growing our own food all year round!

We run practical conservation tasks in various locations in Hull and the surrounding area from 9am-4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. Transport provided from TCV Humber field office. No experience necessary. The work varies from season to season. In winter you could be tree planting, hedge laying, or creating and maintaining ponds and wetlands; whilst in summer you could be constructing wildlife areas in schools, creating footpaths, making hay, or undertaking invasive species control. If you want to get involved in practical work outdoors, learn new skills (or share old ones!) and work with a fun and friendly group then come and join in.

With Hollybush Food Growing Green Gym
At Hollybush Conservation Centre
This session looks after the food growing areas at Hollybush Conservation Centre in Kirkstall, Leeds. The group helps to look after the accessible community Hub at Hollybush. The sessions have a range of activities each week, and aim to offer an opportunity for everyone to get involved. There is no growing experience needed, with group leaders supporting the group in a variety of organic growing techniques using raised beds, ground level beds, orchards and in a paved polytunnel. If you have any questions about the accessibility of the session, please get in touch. Work is carried out in small groups across the site, with the session planned to accommodate access needs.
