    Weekly food growing volunteer sessions (Green Gym)

    Activity description

    Food growing and gardening tasks. Each week will vary depending on what needs doing, but can include seed sowing, planting out, watering, composting, weeding, construction of raised beds and garden signs. Tasks are suitable for all abilities. We take a break at around 12.30pm with hot drinks, biscuits and fruit provided.

    Hedge and woodland boundary work

    Activity description

    Volunteers will be undertaking a mixture of tasks including general vegetation cut back and clearance work in the first section of this park, sorting out fallen timber, maintaining existing dead hedge habitats with some hedgerow prep work. A popular site for everyone where TCV over the years have helped to manage the various boundary habitats, in a sensitive way that has helped support nature for the benefit of this local community green space.
