    Ham Woods - Hedgerow maintenance

    With Richmond Weekday Projects

About 9.6 miles away from your postcode

    At Ham Common Woods

    Activity description

Earlier this year, TCV planted a hedgerow along the residential edge of Ham Common Woods, off Church Road. We will be working to maintain the hedgerow through weeding, scrub clearance and ground aeration. The species planted include hawthorn, blackthorn, spindle, elder, & hazel. Hedgerows are valuable habitats as they provide a dense and varied scrub for animals to nest and feed within. Hedgerows also provide a long, continuous, green corridor to aid the movement of species across greenspaces.
