Path and Picnic Benches Installation at Southern Park SE10 0BW

Activity description
We return to Southern Park to install a short 14m length of self-binding aggregate path leading into the grassland, in front of the new estate entrance beside Southern Park. We will also be creating 2 low level, turf covered bunds from the excavated soil & turf to run along either side of the path, to encourage people to stay on the path and not wander into the meadows areas on either side of it. We will also be installing 2 picnic benches within the park with hardstanding surrounds, and securing the benches to concrete anchors below the ground to ensure they stay put. Finally we will be topping up the aggregate level in the path we installed a few years ago, on the other side of the park.

Our microscopy sessions are back! This time, we invite you to take a close-up look at butterflies and learn about what makes them so special. We will also explore some of their favourite foods, all under the microscope. Drop in between 11 am and 12 pm or 2 to 3 pm. Outside of these slots, you are welcome to enjoy our self-led children's trail and quiz at your leisure, in the park. Sessions are free, no booking required.
