Join Us for a Conservation Day with TCV! Date: 30/04, 07/05, 08/05 Time: 10:00 - 13:30 Location: The Hermitage of Braid Are you passionate about nature and eager to make a difference in your community? Join The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) for an exciting day of hands-on conservation work! We're creating a Bee Bank, establishing butterfly habitats, and planting wildflowers to support local biodiversity. Why Bee Banks? Bee Banks are specially designed areas that provide nesting sites for solitary bees, which are crucial pollinators in our ecosystem. Unlike social bees, solitary bees do not live in hives but nest in the ground. By creating Bee Banks, we support these vital insects, ensuring they have safe places to reproduce and thrive. This helps maintain healthy pollinator populations, which are essential for the pollination of wildflowers and crops, contributing to biodiversity and food security. Make a Difference: Contribute to vital conservation efforts and support local wildlife. Learn New Skills: Gain practical experience in habitat creation and plant care. Meet Like-Minded People: Connect with fellow nature enthusiasts and make new friends. Enjoy the Outdoors: Spend a rewarding day in nature, improving your well-being. What to Expect: Bee Bank Creation: Help us build a safe haven for solitary bees, essential pollinators in our ecosystem. Butterfly Habitat: Assist in creating beautiful spaces for butterflies to thrive. Wildflower Planting: Get your hands dirty planting a variety of wildflowers to attract and support pollinators. ð¿ðð¦ What to Bring: Comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear Gardening gloves (if you have them) A packed lunch and water bottle Lots of enthusiasm!
