    The Faifley volunteer group is run as part of TCV's Community Rewilding Project which aims to build habitats, reclaim unused spaces and to increase the diversity of plants, animals and insects in our community. We also work to make the local parks and green spaces more accessible for the community. Weekly tasks could include: •Creating Wildflower Meadows •Planting trees and native species of flowers •Managing areas of woodland •Clearing overgrown paths •Building habitats and feeders for wildlife Volunteering with us is a great way to: learn skills, make friends and get active. Absolutely no prior knowledge, work experience or skills are necessary, we will give training on the days. All sessions are run by an experienced leader. Wear comfortable sturdy shoes and clothes that are appropriate for the weather and that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. All tools, equipment and gloves are provided as well as refreshments for a tea break.

    The Wild Ways Well Open group is available for anyone who would like to spend some time amongst nature to help improve their mental wellbeing We use the internationally recognised Five Ways Well framework and combine it with fun and informative sessions in the parks and nature reserves of Cumbernauld. On each session we will walk to a Scottish Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve and spend time exploring the woods. We'll stop for a cup of tea made over a fire and have a chat about nature or what's going on in our lives. And we'll take on a nature based activity - learning about wildlife, doing some practical conservation work, making natural art, having ago at some photography, contributing to citizen science projects or trying out some forest skills. We'll discover new things about nature and about ourselves, make new friends, and learn new skills. Along the way participants can also earn a John Muir Discover award
