    Every Monday the Wildlife Walkers gather to take a walk in one of the wonderful parks and nature reserves of Leeds. The walks aim to be accessible for a range of abilities, with regular routes planned to include at least one wheelchair accessible option a month. The group includes plenty of time to appreciate and identify nature along the way. The routes are usually between 1 and 2 miles, with a cup of tea and a snack provided along the way.

    This is a five week course which runs every Monday from 9th June to 7th July 2025 from 10.00am to 4.00pm It is well documented that taking part in creative activities and learning new skills can support positive mental health and wellbeing. The practical and creative techniques and skills learnt on this course will support your positive mental health and wellbeing. Learn how to safely work with wood and design, hand build, and decorate a useful garden store/small cupboard for yourself or others. This course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain income related benefits; work full-time (37hrs a week) and earn below £25,000 or work part-time and earn below £13.05 per hour; It is £37.50 for those in receipt of state pension. Otherwise contact us for course fees. Evidence of identity and benefits, pension, or salary must be provided before the course starts.     This course runs on Tuesdays for 5 weeks from 10th June to 8th July 2025 from 10.00am to 13.30pm This course is specifically for those who would like to support positive wellbeing through learning to grow and care for plants outside and in their home. The course is aimed at people with or without gardening experience, who want to learn more about greening their spaces and growing and caring for plants. On this course you will learn about: microgreens, herbs, houseplants, succulents, growing food, square foot gardening, helping wildlife, how plants can improve your health, growing and displaying plants and more. This course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain income related benefits; work full-time (37hrs a week) and earn below £25,000 or part-time and earn less than £13.05 per hour; It is £26.25 for those in receipt of state pension.     This session looks after the food growing areas at Hollybush Conservation Centre in Kirkstall, Leeds. The group helps to look after the accessible community Hub at Hollybush. The sessions have a range of activities each week, and aim to offer an opportunity for everyone to get involved. There is no growing experience needed, with group leaders supporting the group in a variety of organic growing techniques using raised beds, ground level beds, orchards and in a paved polytunnel. If you have any questions about the accessibility of the session, please get in touch. Work is carried out in small groups across the site, with the session planned to accommodate access needs.
