At Twickenham Cemetery
We will be planting tree whips to create a new 100m hedgerow in Twickenham Cemetery. We will also plant two larger disease resistant elm trees which will provide food and habitat for the rare white-letter hairstreak butterfly. Hedgerows are valuable habitats as they provide a dense and varied scrub for animals to nest and feed within. Hedgerows also provide a long, continuous, green corridor to aid the movement of species across greenspaces. This project was made possible with the support of a grant from The Tree Council and Network Railâs Community Tree Planting Fund received by Richmond Council.
