Activity description

Join TCV’s Saturday gardening sessions on the Greenwich Peninsula and help create a woodland themed garden bed in Barge Walk and pollinator friendly garden areas in Mudlarks Boulevard! 10am to 12.30pm including an all important break for a cuppa and biscuits! You will be working as part of a volunteer team with experienced TCV staff doing tasks such as digging, weeding and planting, as well as creating log habitats. Green fingered enthusiasts and beginners all welcome. Book a place by emailing gpep@tcv.org.uk. We will email you back a TCV Volunteer Welfare Form and confirm your booking. Spaces are limited so book soon! This project is supported by the Greenwich Peninsula Community Fund.

What3words: ---cover.drain.prom br>Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park is made up of four acres of freshwater habitat, made up of two lakes surrounded by marshland that supports a wide range of bird and insect species. Around the edge of the park there is a small woodland area that is dominated by Alder trees, which thrive in waterlogged areas.

We will meet at the Ecology Park Gatehouse (the wooden building on the river) at 10am each Saturday. You don’t need any previous experience and we provide tools and gloves. TCV will also supply tea, coffee and the essential biscuits. Just wear old clothes and strong footwear (e.g. boots or trainers).ou must be 16 or over and any volunteers under 18 need to get a parental/guardian permission form signed first. We will be working on uneven ground and it may involve kneeling down (though we have mats). Ring us on 020 8293 1904 or email us at gpep@tcv.org.uk if you need any more details.
