An activity with TCV Leicester Volunteers

We will be making a welcome return to this popular rural village site. TCV volunteers have been actively involved with the conservation management at Rushton Pocket Park over the previous years. Tasks will include; boundary hedge cutting and profiling, selective coppicing of hazel, pruning and a general cut back of vegetation.
There will be a 9.30am minibus pick-up from the Victoria Park Car Park, Granville Rd LE1 7RY, volunteers wait in the area of the stone lodge city county buildings just up from the toilet block at the London Rd black wrought-iron gates entry/exit. Alternatively volunteers can meet with us at our Evington Park office for 9am if this is easier, parking is secure and free in the Evington Park car park.

community green space nestled within the attractive village of Rushton. Containing wild flower meadow, mixed thorn hedges, a nice variety of woodland vegetation including Hazel, Dogwwood, Cherry, Ash and bramble.

Those wishing to make their own way to the site,please be aware that there is limited parking at the site entrance. Please park your vehicles close to the Thornhill Arms pub on Station Road. The Pocket Park is accessed via the Bridleway clearly marked opposite this pub next to the wooden notice board. Please do not get mixed up with the much larger town of Rushden!! The Pocket Park is located in the Northamptonshire village of Rushton!
