An activity with TCV Leicester Volunteers
Activity date: Wednesday 11th December 2024
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 14:30
This copse has very much been left in its natural state with very little habitat management work carried out. Public access has in the past been discouraged. Volunteers will focus on selectively cutting and clearing excess vegetation growth together with opening up the desire lines. There will be some selective thinning work and coppicing too. As our work progresses we will get a better understanding of the plant species and how this spinney can develop for both the community and the environment.
There will be a 9.30am minibus pick-up from Victoria Park Car Park, Granville Rd, LE1 7RY. Volunteers will assemble in the area of the stone lodge buildings just up from the toilet block. Please reserve your seat on the minibus beforehand, either phone 07764 655482 or email, c.forty@tcv.org.uk thank you. Alternatively volunteers can meet with us at our Evington Office for 9am, there is free safe parking in the Evington Park public car park which is opposite the public library.
