Activity description

Do you enjoy getting outdoors whatever the weather and want to make a difference at your local green space? Then come along to one of our Practical Conservation Volunteer sessions that take place every 1st Saturday of the month across our 8 Community Woodland. This volunteer session will undertake a range of habitat management and access improvements task for people and nature across all the community woodlands that TCV South Yorkshire team manage. If you are interested in finding out what volunteering is all about and want more details about the sessions, then please contact the team.

Meeting place

A member of the TCV team will meet volunteers at the car park entrance to site, and then walk the group to the task area. Car park address is, Phoenix Park, Barrowfield Road, Thurnscoe S63 0QR

Site description

Former pit-tip restored to mixed woodland and grassland with waterbodies including small seasonally wet scrape and watercourses running through it.
