Cowdray Marsh, Meander Mews CO1 1QH, CO1 1QH
This small area of land was originally a rush pasture, which has undergone a radical change in recent years. It was largely stripped of topsoil but has since recovered to form a damp marshland and wet woodland mosaic. Currently there is an abundance of willow and alder saplings growing at the site that are in need of removal. Cutting and clearing these trees should allow soft rush and other wetland plants to flourish. It is hoped that by maintaining the site as a wetland area it will allow amphibians and freshwater invertebrates to re-colonise the vicinity.
