Activity description

Find out what’s living in the park’s ponds as we visit the 3 ponds at Clayton Vale and compare the pond life here. No experience needed, everyone welcome. Tools, equipment, brews and biscuits provided.

Meeting place

Meet at Clayton Vale Tuck Shop, Berry Brow, Manchester, M40 1GR. Free parking on site. Minibus pick up may be available from community venue - please ask for details

Site description

Clayton Vale is located in East Manchester close to the City of Manchester Stadium and is a green space of around 100 acres. It was reclaimed from land fill by Manchester City Council in the early 1980's and forms a valley with the river Medlock running along its base. br>The area was designated a Local Nature Reserve in July 2006.
