An activity with Richmond Weekday Projects
Activity date: Thursday 29th May 2025
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 16:00
We will be completing aquatic planting in Ham Common Ponds and Latchmere Brook, and working to maintain glades and pathways through bramble removal. Oxygenator plants are essential for pond life, contributing to oxygen levels in the water, and will provide further habitat for water-dwelling species.
We will meet in the roadside parking located on Ham Gate Avenue, where it meets Church Road at 10am. Look for the TCV van. There is a small amount of free parking available on Ham Gate Avenue for those wanting to drive.
Ham Woods, Church Road Ham, TW10 5HG
Ham Common Woods is a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation. The woods are separated into three sections by roads (Ham Gate Avenue & Church Road) with each section supporting a slightly different habitat. The main central section contains dry acid grassland, a rare and endangered habitat. The woods also support four ponds and Latchmere Brook.
