Activity description
Pond Close South Luffenham is an evolving wetland/woodland habitat with rich species diversity. A tranquil site for the benefit of nature and human enjoyment. We will be carrying out some light infrastructure work including step and path refurbishment. Replacing rotten timber gravel boards with new timber boards, fixing a new underlay membrane, applying a fresh dressing of woodchip and carrying out some timber step repair work.
Meeting place
We will provide a minibus pick up at 9.30am for volunteers from the Victoria Park car park, Granville Rd LE1 7PA. Please wait close to the Leicester City Council stone lodge buildings just up from the toilet block. Volunteers wishing to arrive at site using their own vehicles, please park next to the site either on Pinfold Lane or the main site access on Main St. The TCV minibus will park on Main St. Volunteers should remember to bring their PPE including suitable gloves, safety hat and hi vis branded tabard. These will be supplied on the day where required. Hot soup, rolls will be provided on-site by the local pub for the volunteers.
