An activity with Haringey Conservation Volunteers
Activity date: Saturday 28th June 2025
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 3:00
Join us for our monthly practical volunteering sessions at Little Wormwood Scrubs. Beginners or experienced gardeners are welcome! We perform a variety of conservation tasks that aim to improve the biodiversity and accessibility of the park. We also do citizen science projects and record the wildlife and plants present in the park. Tasks are seasonal but include bramble clearing, meadow management, removal of invasive turkey oak, habitat creation and more.
Meet by the tool yard and toilets within the park. Google Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/utUSUSbPZY8HxbPLA What3Words: ///merit.signal.herb
Little Wormwood Scrubs, 1 Dalgarno Gardens, London W10 5LL, W10 5LL
Originally joined with big wormwood scrubs until separated in the 1800s. This 21 acre green space consists mostly of grassland and scrubland with a small strip of woodland at the north end.
The scrub area has patches of brambles as well as grass areas and trees including fruit trees. There is also a section of annual wildflower meadow.
The area gets very wet and boggy due to a stream called counters creej that runs underneath the park.
