An activity with Hollybush Wildlife Walks
Activity date: Monday 28th July 2025
Start time: 11:00
Finish time: 13:00
Every Monday the Wildlife Walkers gather to take a walk in one of the wonderful parks and nature reserves of Leeds. The walks aim to be accessible for a range of abilities, with regular routes planned to include at least one wheelchair accessible option a month. The group includes plenty of time to appreciate and identify nature along the way. The routes are usually between 1 and 2 miles, with a cup of tea and a snack provided along the way.
The project takes place in a different location each week. Before joining this group, please contact Hollybush on hollybush@tcv.org.uk or 0113 274 2335 to meet with a member of the team to sign up for the walks. We will then get told the planned walks and meeting points a month ahead of time. Each walk will be planned to be accessible by bus, with public transport information shared with you. If it would be easier for you to get to Hollybush, then there will be a small number of lifts available to the start point of the walk. The spaces are limited in the van, so please contact the walk leader to make sure that there is a space reserved for you.

Hollybush Conservation Centre is a large former farmhouse by the canal in Kirkstall. Volunteers meet here on a daily basis to work on various environmental projects on and off site. It was previously a rhubarb farm.

The sessions take place outdoors, and can include areas with mud and uneven ground. Please make sure you wear clothes suitable for being outside for a couple of hours. Not all parks have any indoor spaces or toilet facilities, so please talk to the project leader to find out what facilities will be available each week, depending on where the walk is planned. TCV Hollybush is an Active Travel Hub and has a range of walking (and cycling) equipment that walkers are welcome to borrow. This includes walking boots, water proofs, walking poles and bags. Thank you to West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the players of the National Lottery for supporting this project.
