Activity description

The Menopause Meet Up, a group to enable mutual support, to try nature-based activities and explore natural strategies for managing this time of life. Every month we focus on a topic related to the menopause that we discuss and share experiences of. We do a nature-based activity using natural materials e.g. willow weaving, ivy baskets, flower balms, sleep mist, hapa zome, hair conditioners, nettle cordage, cooking on the fire. Described by some of attendees as their calm in the storm of both menopause and life!

Site description

Hollybush Conservation Centre is a large former farmhouse by the canal in Kirkstall. Volunteers meet here on a daily basis to work on various environmental projects on and off site. It was previously a rhubarb farm.

It has allowed women to meet other women who understand, share what works and develop coping strategies, network and attend other activities of interest, explore their creative side and relax in nature. Based mostly in the Woodland Shelter, or in the Roundhouse if it’s too cold.
