An activity with Biodiversity Action Team
Activity date: Tuesday 18th November 2025
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 14:00
Join us at Orchard Park South for a practical conservation session focused on enhancing biodiversity. We’ll plant native wildflower plugs to boost pollinator habitats, manage a pocket forest to encourage structural diversity, and scythe meadow areas to maintain species-rich grassland. These actions support Edinburgh Nature Network by creating connected, wildlife-friendly spaces across the city.
Orchard Park South entrance.
Orchard Park, Queensferry Road, EH3 3HW
Orchard Brae Park is divided by Queensferry Road. The north side is a grassy area enclosed by trees and a place for children to play, kick a ball or for adults to walk the dog or stroll with a bench handy. The south side of the park is more formally laid out as a garden, with laburnum trees, roses and shrubbery. Fruit trees and ornamental beds.
