We will be working along the path in Queen Elizabeth Field to remove brambles encroaching on the patchwork meadows, and remove blackthorn suckers encroaching on the access path. This area is managed for biodiversity by LBRuT. This session will be covered by Laurie Sandeman, while Brittany is away on leave.

Thames towpath and Queen Elizabeth Field, Ham Street carpark, 209 Ham St, Richmond TW10 7HF, TW10 7HF
Linear site that includes the Thames towpath, and Queen Elizabeth fields which are used for grazing. Despite being a compact site, QE Field offers an array of habitats including wet woodland, scrub & patchwork grassland habitat. It is home to badgers, yellow meadow ants and the brown hairstreak butterfly. TCV volunteers work to maintain open grassland patches, remove invasive species and keep the pathway accessible.

We provide hot drinks, so please bring your own mug (and spoon). Please bring: Packed lunch & water, suitable outdoor clothes (that will keep you warm & dry the whole day), hat & sunblock, and suitable outdoor footwear (it can be muddy in places).
