An activity with TCV Leicester Volunteers
Activity date: Wednesday 13th August 2025
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 14:30
Come and join us at this establishing orchard site where we will be carrying out the end of season annual grassland vegetation cut and clear. This is best practice by helping to keep the nutrient level low and as a consequence maintain and encourage new wild flower species to establish. We may have to carry out some remedial work with the fruit trees, checking stakes and replacing ties where required and last but not least checking on the general health of the trees.
There will be a 9.30am minibus pick up for volunteers from the Victoria Park Car Park LE1 7RY. Volunteers generally wait in the area of the stone lodge buildings just up from the toilet block. To reserve your seat on the minibus please contact the project lead beforehand either c.forty@tcv.org.uk or 07764 655482. Hot and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day.
