Activity description

Removing Sycamore, Laurel, False Acacia and Rhododendron at Lexden Park. Ring barking a large Sycamore to prevent seeding and to provide habitat for invertebrates, birds and fungi. Creating habitat piles with cuttings for invertebrates.

Site description

Lexden Park is a 8.1 hectare local nature reserve with grassland, woodland and an ornamental lake. The grassland which was formerly football pitches is managed to maintain it as a species rich wildflower meadow. Surrounding the grassland on two sides in woodland dominated by oak trees.
