This site on the steep slopes above Kenley contains open tracts of Chalk Grassland boardering Riddlesdown Road which dates back to Roman times but is now just a Quiet Bridleway which falls steadily down to the Valley floor. The site also contains ancient woodland,and on the steep slopes areas of Hazel Coppice ( where Dormice are found ) , Yew woodland and nationly rare Junipers. The open areas are grazed by sheep and cattle and the disused Quarry at the far end of the site is grazed by goats.
