Activity description

Continuing the process of coppicing to enhance woodland habitats on this former railway line.

Meeting place

If you would like a lift to the site in our minibus, meet at the corner of Queens Road & Brazen Gate, by the traffic lights next to big Sainsbury's car park, opposite Norwich bus station [ what3words: single.affair.robe ] at 10am. Transport from near UEA also available at about 9.15am on request (mark.webster@tcv.org.uk / 07740 899 691). Or you can join us on site, just meet us at Reedham Village Hall car park, 5 Pottle's Ln, Reedham, Norwich NR13 3HL. [ what3words: marathons.stove.landed ] (OS grid ref: TG 415 024). We will be arriving there at approx 10.40am and then leaving there to go to the work site.

Site description

A former railway cutting which formerly had a path that was open, sunlit and wide over around 90% of its length with a profusion of wild flowers, a treat to visit in spring and summer, but now overgrown and dark, in need of opening out to improve microhabitats for insects and birdlife.
