Activity description

This course runs on Tuesdays for 5 weeks from 3rd to 31st of March 2026 from 10.00am to 14.15pm

This course is designed for anyone who would like to improve their wellbeing and learn some traditional craft skills at the same time. On this course you will learn about: Working safely with willow and tools; Different techniques to create items from willow; Characteristics and preparation of willow; Different meditation techniques to relax and manage stress.

This course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain income related benefits; work full-time (37hrs a week) and earn below £25,750 or part-time and earn less than £13.85 per hour; It is £30 for those in receipt of state pension. Otherwise contact us for course fees. Evidence of identity and benefits, pension, or salary must be provided before the course starts.

Site description

Hollybush Conservation Centre is a large former farmhouse by the canal in Kirkstall. Volunteers meet here on a daily basis to work on various environmental projects on and off site. It was previously a rhubarb farm.
