Activity description

Join us in the woodland to help build a dead hedge — a simple, traditional conservation feature that makes a big difference. By weaving fallen branches and natural materials into a living boundary, we’ll create vital shelter for birds, insects, and small mammals, while naturally defining and protecting the woodland floor. This hands-on activity is a rewarding way to support biodiversity, learn practical countryside skills, and enjoy time outdoors with others. No experience is needed — just sturdy footwear and a willingness to get involved. Contact the local project officer to express interest before the session.
