An activity with South Essex Action Team
Activity date: Monday 16th March 2026
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 15:00
Join us in the woodland to help build a dead hedge â a simple, traditional conservation feature that makes a big difference. By weaving fallen branches and natural materials into a living boundary, weâÂÂll create vital shelter for birds, insects, and small mammals, while naturally defining and protecting the woodland floor. This hands-on activity is a rewarding way to support biodiversity, learn practical countryside skills, and enjoy time outdoors with others. No experience is needed â just sturdy footwear and a willingness to get involved. Contact the local project officer to express interest before the session.
