An activity with Biodiversity Action Team (East London)
Activity date: Tuesday 17th March 2026 to Thursday 19th March 2026
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 15:00
We're going to be carrying out a trial programme for a natural way of controlling Oak Processionary Moth by creating 3 wildflower beds as nectar sources to support tachinid fly activity. The flies lay an egg in the OPM caterpillar which hatches and eats the caterpillar from the inside. If the trial works, it will be rolled out across the borough where OPM has become a problem.
Meeting close to the Parks Entrance.
Pimp Hall Park, Simmons Lane Chingford, E4 6JH
Neighbouring Pimp Hall Nature Reserve which we have worke in for many years, this park features two play areas, a fenced area for under 7s and an area for Under 12s. In addition, there is plenty of grass for ball games. There are picnic tables which provide an opportunity to relax and share food close to the play spaces.
