Ham Common Woods - Scrub management

An activity with Biodiversity Action Team (West London)

Activity date: Thursday 23rd April 2026

Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 16:00

Book online at Eventbrite

Activity description

Last year, TCV planted a hedgerow along the residential edge of Ham Common Woods, off Church Road. We will be working to maintain the hedgerow through weeding, scrub clearance and ground aeration. The species planted include hawthorn, blackthorn, spindle, elder, & hazel. Hedgerows are valuable habitats as they provide a dense and varied scrub for animals to nest and feed within. Hedgerows also provide a long, continuous, green corridor to aid the movement of species across greenspaces.

Meeting place

We meet at the corner of Church Road and Garthside at 10am. Look for the TCV van. What3words meeting point: ///soak.case.camera There is a small amount of free parking available outside the church, or along Garthside or The Shires for those wanting to drive.
