Activity description

We invite you to join us for our 2023 Bird surveys! This week we will be surveying at Down Lane Park while the Paddock is undergoing it's Japanese Knotweed removal work What to expect: - A short talk on a bird species or bird-related topic each week. - A guided transect survey of the whole site. - Help with identifying birds visually and by birdsong. - By booking onto multiple sessions you’ll gain a deeper understanding of seasonal cycles, and improve your I.D. skills.

Pre-booking is essential, book now to confirm a place. Please be aware Eventbrite booking closes one day before each surveying event at 5pm. If you have to cancel your place for any reason, please get in touch via thepaddock@tcv.org.uk or by the contact numbers below to let us know. What to bring: You will be issued with a field recording sheet, species guide sheets, a clipboard and a pencil. If you own a pair of binoculars and further ID guides/books, you are welcome to bring them along. Individual surveys will run outdoors for about an hour, please be sure to check the weather/temperature and dress accordingly.
