The main tasks for the day will be to cut back and clear away vegetation along the line of where the boardwalk is to be installed. Some leveling of the ground in addition to collecting materials from the site that will be used in the construction. There are surplus pieces of timber left over from previous work that can be repurposed into this project.
There will be a minibus pick-up for volunteers at 9.30am from the Victoria Park Car Park, Granville Rd LE1 7PA. Volunteers will assemble in the area close to the stone lodge buildings close to the London Rd entrance to the car park. Volunteers wishing to make their own way to the site can access and park their vehicles using the Mill Lane entrance off the main Kilworth Rd (A4304). Traveling through Husbands Bosworth on the Kilworth Rd the Millennium Wood will be on left side as you go down the hill just outside of the village. Mill Lane turning is on your left side at the bottom of the hill. Site access is the first left on Mill Lane. Please remember to bring your own refreshments at this time and to wear suitable outdoor clothing for this time of year.
