Activity description

We will be removing Floating Pennywort, which is an invasive plant that chokes the pond if it is allowed to spread.

Meeting place

Britannia car park at 10a.m. or by the green lane off Barn Hall Avenue. There is also parking in the lay-by on Stalin Road. If you park there, then walk down Bourne Valley to Blythe Pond, at the Old Heath Road end.

Bourne Valley is a site of nature conservation importance. It is a woodland and wetland site covering 15 acres sandwiched between the residential areas of Mersea Road and Old Heath Road.
