An activity with Biodiversity Action Team (South London)
Activity date: Tuesday 26th May 2026
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 16:00
We return to Southern Park to install a short 14m length of self-binding aggregate path leading into the grassland, in front of the new estate entrance beside Southern Park. We will also be creating 2 low level, turf covered bunds from the excavated soil & turf to run along either side of the path, to encourage people to stay on the path and not wander into the meadows areas on either side of it. We will also be installing 2 picnic benches within the park with hardstanding surrounds, and securing the benches to concrete anchors below the ground to ensure they stay put. Finally we will be topping up the aggregate level in the path we installed a few years ago, on the other side of the park.
Meet on site from 10.00am onwards. We will be working on the main grassland area, on the Eastern side of Southern Park where the main entrance from the neighbouring estate leads into the park.
