An activity with Biodiversity Action Team (West London)
Activity date: Thursday 28th May 2026
Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 16:00
We will be working in Hatherop Park Conservation Area to manage the meadows and pathways. The site is managed for biodiversity by LBRuT. We will look to maintain pathways and push back bramble suckering off meadow edges to maintain the grassland space. Please wear long-sleeves to this event as we will be clearing prickly seedlings (bramble, hawthorn, blackthorn) so let's reduce scratch risk!
We will meet in Hatherop Conservation Area, at the edge of the first meadow at 10am. To get to this location, follow the internal road (from Broad Lane) into the park, keep following the road past the pitches and around the corner. Look out for the TCV van parked along the side of the road. What3words meeting point:///poetic.took.level

Hatherop Conservation Area is the northern section of Hatherop Park, and accounts for 4.06 ha of the 9.3 ha park. The conservation area was previously the Council’s burning ground and when such practices ceased the land was capped with donated topsoil. Since then, it has developed through habitat succession into a mosaic of neutral grassland, scrub and woodland habitat. On the southwestern side the land slopes down to the railway tracks forming a strip of scrub-woodland, which is a haven for bird activity. There is also a pond in the south-western corner of the site. Hatherop Conservation Area is designated as a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation.
