Activity description

Like many ponds, the one in Stock village needs to be managed to reduce invasive species, and Floating Pennywort in particular. There will also be some minor scrub clearing on the island.

Meeting place

Pick up from Britannia car park at 9.45a.m. or meet at Stock village pond on Mill Lane at 10.30. Limited parking on Thornton Place.

Site description

a small and relatively shallow pond with a little island in the middle. The islands have some willow which has been partially coppiced and the pond is covered in duck weed. it also has some American penny wort (?), a small amount of mace reeds and other aquatic plants.

Further info

The pond on Mill Road, Stock, is fairly small and has steep bank. There is work to be done both in the pond and on the banks. PPE including chest waders and rubber gloves will be provided for volunteers working in the pond.
