SATURDAY Biodiversity Action Day - East Village

Activity description

Join us and learn new skills, meet like-minded people and make a difference, as we help carry out vital biodiversity management work in The Waterglades, East Village. You don't need to book a place but, the first time you volunteer, we will ask you to fill out a TCV Volunteer Welfare Form (which we can email to you in advance). So please drop an email to Karen at eastvillage@tcv.org.uk You will be working as part of a volunteer team, carrying out tasks such as pond/channel clearing, reed cutting, coppicing (cutting smaller tree stems), digging and creating new habitats.

We meet at 09.50am for a 10am start outside Sedona House on Victory Parade (at the end of Scarlet Close). We work from 10 to around 11.30am when we stop for a short tea-break, then we work until around 1pm and stop for an hour for lunch. You are welcome to stay with us on site with a packed lunch, although you can also head to a local shop, cafe, or home if you live nearby. We start again at 2pm and work through to about 3.30pm, when we pack up and take everything back to the toolstore. You'll be off site by 4pm at the latest! Please let the Project Officer know on the day if you need to get away earlier.
