This is a one-off session running on Friday 9th October from 10.00am to 4.00pm
This session is aimed at people who are already part of a walking group and want to take more responsibility or those looking to set up a new walking group.
The session will cover various subjects including why we have walking groups, the role and responsibilities of a walk leader, route planning and risk assessment, a demonstration walk, and discussions of various scenarios which may arise.
It gives the opportunity to discuss various aspects of being a walk leader and ask questions of experienced walk leaders in a supportive environment.
This course is FREE if you are in receipt of certain income related benefits; work full-time (37hrs a week) and earn below £26,800 or part-time and earn less than £13.85 per hour; It is £9 for those in receipt of state pension. Otherwise contact us for course fees. Evidence of identity and benefits, pension, or salary must be provided before the course starts.

Hollybush Conservation Centre is a large former farmhouse by the canal in Kirkstall. Volunteers meet here on a daily basis to work on various environmental projects on and off site. It was previously a rhubarb farm.
