Activity description

We will be working at the Kingston University Hill Campus to lay a section of young hedgerow. We will be joined by some of the onsite staff. Hedge laying is a traditional technique used to create living fences or boundaries by cutting and laying hedge tree stems to promote dense vegetation growth. Whilst hedge laying is still used for this reason across the UK, in urban areas it is also utilised to create dense, biodiverse, green corridors and refugia for animals.

Meeting place

We will be meeting within the Kingston University grounds at 10am. Please make your way to the greenspace south of the Yorkon Building, located opposite the tennis courts. - Google Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/mspRQfnkWS3JUQf37 - What3words: https://what3words.com/golf.else.update A limited amount of free car parking will be available onsite, and will require checking in with the reception ahead of session.
