Site description

Lexden Park is a 8.1 hectare local nature reserve with grassland, woodland and an ornamental lake. The grassland which was formerly football pitches is managed to maintain it as a species rich wildflower meadow. Surrounding the grassland on two sides in woodland dominated by oak trees.

Lexden Park Local Nature Reserve is a relatively small (7ha) reserve, with ancient woodland, a pond and meadow in the middle of the site. Part of the site is designated a scheduled ancient monument.
