Oak Avenue Nature Reserve - Spring hay cut and raking

An activity with Richmond Weekday Projects

Activity date: Wednesday 8th May 2024

Start time: 10:00
Finish time: 16:00

Activity description

We will be assisting the shire horses from Operation Centaur by raking up the arisings from the spring hay cut. Raking is important in meadow management as it maintains low soil fertility, which reduces competitive grass growth.

Meeting place

We meet at the entrance to Oak Avenue NR at 10:00 OR pick up at 9:45am at ETNA community Centre in East Twickenham. Please text Judith on 07483 050759 if you would like a lift.
